Everyone knows him as @mikeyshamrocks but to me, he's everything. š
If it wasn't for him asking me on a date to go ice fishing years ago, I'm not so sure if I would've ever found my love for fishing. Simply put, he changed my life and opened up the door to the Great Outdoors for me.
Our second date was on the ice and I think I surprised him by actually being excited to go. It was a whole new world for me. His confidence and knowledge about the ice, the fish, setting up, all the gear he had and how eager he was to show me. š I was so nervous to even step on the ice; add on using the auger, drilling holes, baiting hooks.. but this was a completely new experience for me and I was so ready to get hands on and actually learn what this was all about.
The way he taught me so patiently and how excited he was to see me catch my first fish, the way he wanted me to love it just as much as him and see it for the true beauty it was. I couldn't have asked for a better date.
Mike fished more than anyone I knew. At least 5 or 6 days a week, he was on the water after a long day of work. Ice or open, if there was water, he'd find it. He shared his personal experiences with me of failures and successes when it came to catching fish and that really helped me understand the sport.
It didn't take long for me to jump on board. From ice fishing to kayaking to Jon boat fishing to big boat, saltwater deep sea fun.
We traveled the country doing what we love. Catching fish and enjoying life. The simple things are what matter the most. Mike showed me how great fishing can be without adding stress to it. Whether you catch 100 or none, get out there and have fun. I'm so grateful God blessed me with knowing this man and all he has taught me. The man behind the camera, my videographer, tutor, mentor and ultimate fun seeker. I don't like to tell him but he's pretty good at making me laugh too..
